Added 2025-06-25 19:45:21 +0000 UTCRecovery from trauma is climbing a mountain, not running an easy, asphalt paved marathon. There are rocks and scrambles and lost maps. Itโs not something laid out perfectly before you, itโs not something you can easily see. Itโs hard and grueling and miserable.
You take it on the chin though, and heโs so proud of you. Proud every time you come out of therapy with a nervous and slightly relieved smile, proud every time he catches you leaning over a mixing bowl at home and humming. All the changes hurtle towards you like a meteor crashing to earth, and while you stumble and fall, heโs always there to pull you back up.
